The Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower rises 984 feet (300 meters) in the Champ de Mars,a popular park.The tower took 2 years,2 months,and 5 days from start to finish. It was named after Alexandre Eiffel whose team of engineers designed it. It was made using 9,441 tons of wrought iron. In 1909 the tower was almost demolished and sold off as scrap. It was saved for the use of a telecommunications structure.
